Norwegian composer and performer Maja SK Ratkje is known for her genre-defining vocal expression. As a “pioneer in electroacoustic voice modulation,” she was described as the “undoubted highlight” of the 2017 MADEIRADiG festival by German Rolling Stone.

Her works have been performed by Ensemble Intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, Oslo Sinfonietta and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, among others. During the Hamsunda Days she collaborates with the Sami/Finnish visual artist Matti Aikio, whose works explore nomadic reindeer herding and the encounter between Western and indigenous cultures.
