Hamsun Library

The Hamsun Centre has received valuable book collections and individual books over the years: Among others, the Hamsun collection from Kirsten Hedvig Rasmussen, the collection from the defunct Hamsun-Gesällschaft which has added a wealth of German material, the county library in Nordland, and translations and other book gifts from the Hamsun Society. We still receive offers of book donations, which we greatly appreciate.

Together, the gifts and purchases make up the Hamsun Library, which is constantly growing. The books are now mostly catalogued and displayed on the shelves. Bookshelves that are partly specially crafted for crooked walls and angles.
