Author and speaker
Helene Uri (b. 1964) is a linguist and author, and has written a number of books in several genres, including novels, children's books and non-fiction. She has a doctorate in linguistics, and is employed at Kristiania University College, where she works at the Norwegian Children's Book Institute as a professor II in creative writing. As an author, she has received a number of awards, including the Ministry of Culture's Children's Book Prize, the Brage Prize in the non-fiction category, and the Riksmålsforbundets Children's and Youth Book Prize.
Her books have been translated into over twenty languages.

lecture on gendered language in Hamsun's novels. The lecture is based on the novels Pan and
Markens Grøde and builds on the analyses from the book Jeg naken drakk (Gyldendal, 2024), where she, together with research librarian
Lars Johnsen investigated how male and female authors write differently.
