Author
Tore Løding (50) was raised on Uteid in Hamarøy, and he has also been a permanent resident of Hamarøy for the past two years. He attended the Writers' Studies in Tromsø as far back as 2006–2008. Løding has a master's degree in publishing from New York University (2014), and he has been a teacher of media studies and Norwegian at four upper secondary schools in Tromsø, Lakselv and Hamarøy. In the spring of 2024, his first novel, Hålogalending , was published.
About the book
Hålogalending is an action-driven historical novel set in the Viking Age in Northern Norway. The book is heavily inspired by the northern Norwegian landscape, and readers familiar with the area will recognize places such as Borg i Lofoten, Ness, Tømmeråsen and Engeløya, as well as the area Presteid/Oppeid/Uteid, which has been given other names in the novel.
