Nordic Manga

Helen Kaldheim (b. 1995) is the creator of the comic book Mørkalven , which is known as Norway's first manga. Manga is the Japanese word for comics. It is a Japanese art form within comics that is different from Western comics. During Hamsundagene you can attend drawing courses where you will learn to draw Nordic manga.

Nordic Manga course

Friday 7 August at 13.00 - 16.00 at The Hamsun Centre

In this course you will learn about manga and how to draw in the manga style. There will be a bit of history about manga, manga recommendations and a focus on manga elements in drawing. You will get to know Helen better and her instructive process behind the creation of Mørkalven.

This is a unique opportunity for young people who are interested in learning more about manga, and how to draw manga. An educational course where participants receive good follow-up from Helen.
