Open letter to the royal family
The Hamsundagene joins several organizations in an open letter to the Royal House.
HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit has been the High Patron of Hamsundagene since 2016. This year, the festival, together with 21 other organizations, had its patronage renewed for 5 new years.
- The Hamsundagene, together with the Førde Festival and the Nynorsk Cultural Center, Museum for Written Culture, have chosen to send a letter to the Royal House in which we explain our current position, says festival director Overelv regarding the case of HRH the Crown Princess's contact with the convicted abuse businessman Jeffery Epstein.
To the Royal House:
"The organizations behind this letter have Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess as their royal patron. We appreciate the commitment of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess and the Royal House to our work. The new information about Her Royal Highness's contact with the sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, which was made public on January 30, appears serious and worrying. It is important for our further cooperation that the Royal House makes a good case for the matter."
