Royal patronage continues

There have been many questions about Hamsundagene's position on HRH Crown Princess Mette - Marit's patronage after the so-called "Epstein files" were made public. The Hamsundagene literature and culture festival has had HRH Crown Princess Mette - Marit as high patron since 2016.

In light of the media coverage related to the Crown Princess's relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and her statements in the case, we have made a thorough assessment of the patronage.

The Hamsundagene currently wishes to continue HRH Crown Princess Mette - Marit's patronage. The Hamsundagene emphasizes the Crown Princess's long-standing commitment to literature, culture and reading, and the importance the patronage has had for the festival over a number of years.

If new information or significant changes occur in the case, we will conduct a new assessment.
