It is late autumn. Isak fights to survive in the wilderness. One day, Inger appears over the mountain. Out of a meeting in need, love grows. In merciless nature, Isak and Inger fight to create a life together. With love as their driving force, they build the farm Sellanraa from nothing. When a dark secret comes to the surface, love is put to the test.

In other roles we meet Gard B. Eidsvold, Anders Baasmo, Oddgeir Thune and Sjur Vatne Brean, among others.

The film is based on Hamsun's Nobel Prize-winning novel from 1917, and is one of the most important works in Norwegian cultural history. It is a magnificent story of love and man's place in the beautiful and merciless nature.
