Creative multi-artist

Kristina R. Johnsen is a project manager, stage animal, author, photographer and writer who writes essays, feature articles and reports for media in Norway and abroad. Kristina is a fisherman's daughter, born and raised in Bø in Vesterålen, and is interested in exploring our relationship with nature and origins, which also became the starting point for a large international work.

Kristina was recently named Freelancer of the Year for her work on the project “Yderst Europe”. From 2013-2018 she started and ran the magazine “Yderst”, a magazine at the intersection of media and art, to highlight culture, perspectives and voices from underrepresented areas in the north. The concept was later developed into an interdisciplinary concept with stage communication, book production, publications and tech experimentation in collaboration with strong professional communities in Paris and Brussels. The book “Yderst” was published in the spring of 2026 in English and French by the publisher Atelier EXB Paris.

She has performed on major stages at home and abroad, and in 2025 had the premiere of a full-length stage show with Yderst Europe at the Northern Norway Festival. In addition to her creative projects and editorial work, she is active as a percussionist in the band Din Freundin. You can also see her as an actress in LUKT Studios' music video “High Season” which won the award for best music video at the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival in California in 2026.
